Hello there, I enjoy solving problems for a living.

I’m Farida, a product designer with a background in architecture, bringing over seven years of experience in the creative field. My journey has always been driven by a deep curiosity about how people interact with their environments—whether designing spaces or digital experiences.

Background

I’ve had the chance to work on a variety of projects, including competitions and VgV procedures, collaborating with different teams across multiple project phases. This experience gave me valuable insights into teamwork and what makes projects successful. I worked on hospitals, laboratories, and university buildings, learning firsthand about user needs and functional design. With over 10 projects under my belt, I regularly visited construction sites, worked closely with stakeholders to resolve challenges, and honed my skills in problem-solving, user research, and empathy.

I started at Behnisch Architekten as an intern in Munich before spending a year in the Boston office, where I was later hired as an architect. During my time there, I worked primarily on schools and residential buildings, gaining hands-on experience through site visits and deepening my technical construction knowledge. Problem-solving became a key part of my work, as I navigated design challenges and on-site issues. Sustainability played a major role in every project, and I learned a lot about integrating sustainable strategies into architecture.

I worked on urban interventions in downtown Cairo, where I experienced firsthand how design must adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic city. The fast-paced, complex urban environment taught me to think on my feet, finding creative solutions that balanced functionality with the city’s evolving needs. Through this work, I also rediscovered Cairo—the city I’m from—through a problem-solving lens, gaining a deeper appreciation for its layers of history, movement, and informal urban patterns.
